*is sorry to hear that* shame on them! don't they "Have" to make it accessible? Please excuse my ignorance on the matter....I mean...yes, over here we have laws but, people/business still don't cater very well (imo) to handicapped persons....but, I would think that a large venue would be a little more accomodating than your average Mom and Pop place...?? or maybe not.....

and btw....it is insensitive to ask something like that (especially the way you worded it).....if Michelle wanted you to know....she would have offered the info....I tell everyone I'm not with my ex......but, it's rude to ask for details.....(maybe a bad example...)??

Sorry to hear that Michelle This country still has some way to go before all venues can accommodate disabled people in wheelchairs

yes, that's true....but, there are plenty of places that go around these rules....I mean....just imagine your average clothing store...if you were in a wheelchair....would you be able to naviagte through those isles? the way they jam those clothes thingies together? you can't even get a cart in there half the time....so, I think there's a lot more than should be done.....maybe if they (all these executives) had to wheel around in one all day and do the most basic of things....then they would understand the frustration....

sorry Michell....didn't mean to turn your post into a venting session

It's fine with me, Marci I felt annoyed when I got off the phone to the Portsmouth Guidhall earlier, I can't believe they would refuse to cater for people in wheelchairs I thought that was illegal now for a start.

It is illegal! It's a wonder that they've never had a law suit filed against them I'm not sure in the UK if you all file law suits the same as here....but, over here if this were to happen a law suit would most assuredly be the way to go...shame, shame, shame on them Is there any type of organization that defends the rights of the handicapped over there? Maybe it would be worth a call to them or letter.....if it doesn't help you this time.....maybe it would at least ensure that they straightened out their act for the next time????

I'm really angry at Portsmouth for not catering for people in wheelchairs

But I am happy you are coming to London cos I'll be there (at least I hope so anyway, lol)
